Pavlova
Alhamdulillah, akhirnya Laptop kembali sihat seperti sediakala. Tahu-tahu heboh cerita tentang Pavlova. Di sana dan di sini telah bercerita tentang Pavlova. Mana-mana blog pasti ada cerita mahupun gambarnya. Hinggakan adik saya turut menyebutnya. Saya tidak tahu kenapa Pavlova ini meletup tiba-tiba. Padahal ia telah menjadi dessert klasik.
” Kak long tahu Pavlova? Nampak macam sedap. ” Suatu hari adik saya bertanya.
“Mahukah, Nanti Kak long buat”
” Mahu, hendak tahu bagaimana rasanya? Di KL semua orang bagai gila dengan Pavlova ini, selepas demam macaroon”
Apa itu Pavlova?
Pavlova bukan dessert baru. Ia telah dicipta pada penghujung tahun 1920an khas untuk Penari ballet Rusia bernama Anna Pavlova yang telah datang ke New Zealand dan Australia. Sudah antik dessert ini, hampir 100 tahun dan menjadi dessert tradisi bagi rakyat New Zealand dan Australia.
Dessert Pavlova ini dihasilkan sama seperti membuat meringue iaitu putih telur yang dipukul hingga kental bersama gula. Namun yang membezakan antara meringue dan Pavlova adalah tambahan bahan di dalam resepi seperti tepung jagung, cuka dan Vanila. Kombinasi ini memberikan tekstur rangup dan rapuh di luar serta lembut seperti mashmallow didalam bila dimakan bersama Krim Chantilly (Whipped fresh cream) serta buah-buahan.
Jenis buah-buahan terpulang pada citarasa masing-masing. Namun kombinasi warna yang dihasilkan melalui gabungan buah Strawberi, kiwi dan pic sentiasa menarik perhatian. Munkin kerana ini Pavlova menjadi popular di Malaysia.
Pavlova lebih sedap dimakan selepas 2jam disediakan dan boleh bertahan sehingga 2 hari. (Di dalam peti sejuk) Selepas waktu itu tekturnya hilang rangup serta menjadi terlalu lembut seperti memakan krim. Namun masih enak dengan buah-buahan yang banyak. Nyum!!
